Expectations and Professionalism
Detailed below are guidelines for meeting summer school expectations.
ATTENDANCE:
LESSON PLANS: During summer school, lesson plans need to be submitted in the following three places by 7:05am. This applies for second-years and first-years.
|
DISPOSITIONS AND WARNINGS:
At summer school, you are expected to maintain professionalism and meet certain expectations inside and outside of the classroom. If you do not meet these expectations, you will receive an informal warning via email. Following a third offense, you will receive a formal disposition and meet with a summer school administrator. Here is a list of behaviors you can receive a disposition warning for:
|
TEACHER DRESS:
You are expected to dress professionally at summer school. Teachers should not violate the students’ dress code. Expectations for dress:
- Men: dress shirt, tie, slacks or khakis, and dress shoes. No tennis shoes.
- Women: skirts and dresses must be knee-length. Straps at least three inches wide.
WHEN OBSERVING A LESSON:
- Store laptops and cell phones
- If you are NOT teaching the lesson and you are in the classroom, you need to be a silent observer. Once the bell has rung, the teacher responsible for that lesson is the only person that should be interacting with the students, unless the TEAM teacher directs you otherwise.
VISITING OTHER CLASSROOMS:
Teachers will be expected to get permission from their TEAM teachers to visit other classrooms when they are not on their planning periods. Make sure you enter the classroom no later than 7 minutes after the start of the class (keep in mind that middle school and high school classes have different start times). If you are visiting another classroom, be sure to have the TEAM teacher sign your classroom visit log in your summer training binder.
